Sebastián Ramírez-Lohner

Executive Chef

Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, the love for hospitality and cooking came from a very young age, inspired by his grandfather, who emigrated from Switzerland to Puerto Rico and founded The Swiss Chalet, one of Puerto Rico’s first fine dining restaurants back in the 1940’s. After studying Hospitality Administration at Boston University, he began working at Augusto”s Restaurant (now Ariel) under Chef Ariel Rodríguez.

He then left to continue his education abroad at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, and working at Jaleo tapas-bar, one of Chef José Andrés’ restaurants in Washington, DC. In 2010, he went back to Puerto Rico, and began working at La Taberna Lúpulo, with Chris Hoppe and Preston Berry, paving the way to the growth of the craft beer scene on the island. From there he opened his own project in 2014, Parcela, blending all of his life’s experiences, into a space and a concept, working directly with local farmers and producers, unfortunately closed down after the island was hit by hurricanes Irma & Maria in September 2017.
